Very often we waste time, energy and readily available joy because of our failure to acknowledge an error. We know that pencils have erasers. We know that computers allow us to cut and paste. We know that tests can be taken again and wrong sizes exchanged.
Yet for some strange reason, one of our greatest challenges is admitting to ourselves and others that we have made a mistake.
Perhaps as children we were spanked for breaking things, or criticised for shortcomings. Maybe those who raised us wanted so badly for us to be good that they left us little margin for error.
Maybe we have heard so much about human errors that have caused great tragedy, hardship or heartache that we are simply afraid to say…
Sometimes you just have to stick 2 fingers up at life.
You’ve got to stand your ground, look life in the face and say…
“Bring it on!”
You see…
Life happens…regardless.
Good and Bad are different sides of the same coin.
And how you ‘flip it’ is totally up to you.
Because when something appears to be ‘bad’, if you look for the lesson, you might just find it’s really all good.
And when things are good…
Well…
Appreciate and enjoy the moment
So the next time it feels like life’s kicking you in the teeth…
Stick two fingers up in the ‘V’ for victory sign…
And go forth and conquer!

Author John Roger wrote, “We are only born once into life, but in life we are re-born many times.” He was describing the many “mini-deaths” we experience in our journey through life.
We die to old ways of being to be reborn in our power.
We die to old beliefs to be reborn in our truth.
We die to habits of need, dependency and control to be reborn in reliance on Spirit.
We die to fear of Spirit to be reborn into Spirit of fearlessness.
We are taught that death is the end. It is, we believe, the darkness into which we plunge, never to return, of which no one can speak.
As long as you are still breathing, death becomes what we commonly call change.
Until today, you may not have been aware of the many times you have faced death or the ways in which death can alter your state of being. Just for today, lay down your notions and fears about death and be willing to change.
Today, be willing to accept death in order to change.
(An extract from Iyanla Vanzant’s powerful book, ‘Until Today!’)
Have you ever wondered why it’s so hard to keep New Year resolutions?
Each year we start out really fired up, determined to finally put an end to the things we know are bad for us. We resolve to eat healthier, lose weight, give up smoking, go gym, quit drinking, etc.
But before the first months over (let alone year) the fires burned out, our resolution’s broken and we’re back doing those things we know are holding us back from the things we really want – health, money, happiness, etc
Sound familiar?
I went through this cycle for more years than I care to remember — and it frustrated the hell out of me. I knew I wanted to change and move forward — that’s why we set New Year resolutions in the first place, right? — but for some reason, I couldn’t seem to.
That got me wondering why New Years resolutions don’t work. And then I realised that New Years resolutions don’t work because…
